The Colline d'Élancourt was crowned winner of the prestigious 2025 Équerre d'Argent award in the ‘Public and Landscape Spaces’ category. This iconic project, led by SOLIDEO (Society for the delivery of olympic works), combines sport, ecology, and industrial heritage in the heart of the Île-de-France region in France.
Project management for La Colline d'Elancourt
Egis, alongside D’Ici Là Paysagistes (lead contractor), Bike Solutions and l’Atelier d’Écologie Urbaine, oversaw the project management of this unique site:
- A sports facility: mountain bike trails suitable for all levels (including international) and a multi-purpose pump track (looped cycle track),
- Public amenities: footpaths, living and relaxation areas that can be used as spectator areas (15,000 people welcomed during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, including 2,700 seats),
- Environmentally friendly management: rehabilitation of a former polluted site, preservation of wetlands and protected species, while managing technical constraints and tight deadlines (7 months of fixed work for delivery in time for the Paris 2024 Games).
Paris 2024 Olympic Games: the hill as a legacy
A challenge turned into an opportunity: to transform a former quarry, once a landfill site, into a haven of biodiversity and sport. An ambitious project, carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, to deliver a site worthy of the event.
Today, the Colline d'Élancourt is much more than just a park: it is a landscaped sports area open to all, where nature and performance come together. With breathtaking views of the Eiffel Tower and a preserved natural setting, it embodies the lasting legacy of the Games, well beyond 2024.
Egis is involved in all stages of development for major sports and event projects, from preliminary studies to delivery and commissioning. The Group is committed to designing high-performance, user-centred and sustainable infrastructure that contributes to the transformation of territories and their social, economic and urban development.
