Egis has established the Egis Production Centre Philippines (EPCP) to tackle critical water management challenges intensified by climate change and urbanisation.
Building on the success of the integrated flood risk management project — known as the Infrastructure Preparation and Innovation Facility (IPIF-2 Water), which involved over 150 engineers, the EPCP is positioned as a hub for innovative water management solutions in response to the Philippines' increasing flood risks.
Based in Manila, this Centre will operate with a skilled team of over 20 people specialising in flood control, drainage, and urban water treatment. Their expertise in advanced methodologies, such as computer-aided design (CAD & BIM), Hydraulic modelling and Geographical Information System (GIS), equips them to effectively address complex water management issues.
The EPCP will concentrate on a broad range of water and environmental projects, emphasising both rural hydraulic initiatives - like flood management and irrigation - and urban water systems – like treatment plans and networks. This dual approach is vital for developing comprehensive strategies that adapt to the region's evolving needs.
Our initial assignments showcase the Centre’s technical capabilities and international reach. These include a comprehensive 2D hydraulic modelling study covering 600 km of the Danube River to assess navigability, the development of a Water Management Plan—encompassing water supply, irrigation, and reuse—for the Al-Ula Sharaan project in Saudi Arabia, and a preliminary design for the “Salinity Barrier” project in Sri Lanka involving dam and dike infrastructure, among other initiatives. These projects demonstrate EPCP’s commitment to delivering innovative and practical water solutions across diverse environments.
