State Road 66 | Added Travel Lanes

WARRICK COUNTY, IN—This project consisted of providing engineering design services for added travel lanes on a 2.85 mile section of State Road 66. This project provided for six travel lanes, with three lanes in each direction separated by a 4.8 meter median. This project extends from approximately 0.6 miles east of I-164 to 0.2 miles east of State Road 261.

Maintenance of Traffic

The project maintained traffic on the existing pavement while a portion of the proposed lanes were constructed. Significant work was required on the S-lines for this project to accommodate the projected traffic volumes at the intersections.

Additional Details

  • Several large culverts and the enclosure of existing drainage were required on this project.
  • At-grade intersection improvements where SR 66 intersected multiple (6) cross roads were completed, which included new traffic signals.
  • Project included water and sanitary sewer improvements.
