Fountain County Bridge No. 7 | Bridge Replacement

FOUNTAIN COUNTY, IN—The Fountain County Board Commissioners contracted BLN to complete all professional engineering services necessary for their replacement of this historic structure. The bridge is located on County Road 1000 South over Coal Creek.

The Structure

BLN replaced the existing single-span steel truss with a three-span continuous composite prestressed concrete bulb-tee beam bridge. The total bridge length is 339' and its width is 26.5'. The two-lane approach is approximately 1300'. Horizontal curves are located at each end of the project.

Additional BLN Services

In addition to the Bridge Design, BLN also provided Environmental Servicesfor the completion of the environmental impact study, including Categorical Exclusion, wetland delineations, Section 4(f) Evaluation, Section 106 Documentation, HAER Documentation, design summary and design plans for the replacement of historic Fountain County Bridge No. 7. This bridge was eligible for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places.
